TROY — The Troy Foundation’s Distribution Committee has voted to provide a grant in the amount of $25,000 to Troy United Way to assist with their 2009 Campaign.

“In times such as these, it is important that community residents have access to all services needed to continue to provide for themselves and their families. A grant in support of United Way’s Campaign will assist them in meeting their Campaign goal. Meeting goal will allow them to continue to provide support to their member agencies that are working tirelessly to meet the needs of our community,” said Melissa Kleptz, executive director of The Troy Foundation.

“Over the past many years, the Foundation and United Way have worked together to assist nonprofit organizations serving the Troy community with their operating needs,” stated Lucy DiSalvo, executive director of Troy United Way. “We have a unique partnership that allows us to provide the funding needed within our community to continue to support the high level of services that benefit our residents.”

Troy United Way extended their Campaign into 2010 in order to assist them in meeting their goal.

“The Foundation felt it was important to provide the grant because it would help United Way to continue providing the funding needed by their member agencies. Now, more than ever, Troy residents are seeking assistance from United Way agencies to help them through these difficult times,” said Ozzie Haddad, chairman of the Foundation’s Distribution Committee.
