GRANTMAKING PRIORITIES
The Troy Foundation awards grants made for public charitable purposes that benefit the citizens of the Troy City School District.
Grants are awarded in the fields of arts and culture, education and youth, recreation, and health and human services.
PROPOSAL FORM AND CONTENT
In order for the
Distribution Committee to consider a proposal, a
Grant Application must be completed and signed by an
authorized official of your organization. A letter
of support from the organization’s governing body
should also be included. In addition, the proposal
should address as many of the points listed in the
Grant Application Outline as are applicable to your
situation. An original, along with six (6) copies, must be submitted.
Applications cannot be considered until we have received all pertinent information. If time permits, the Foundation will notify you if you have not included the
required information, prior to the grant review meeting.
Historically, the Foundation’s discretionary grants have varied in size. Larger grants are awarded, but generally they have been for
major community-wide efforts. |
In order to
remain flexible in meeting the ever-changing needs
of the community, multi-year commitments are kept to
a minimum.
In
addition, the Foundation reviews applications only from organizations that benefit residents in the Troy City School District. However, applications outside of
that region, but which may support the area, may still be considered.
If you are interested in applying for a grant, the Foundation encourages you to call or write if you have questions or if you need
help in determining if your proposal is eligible for consideration. We are available to assist you with the proposal process.
GRANT REVIEW AND AWARD PROCESS
The Distribution Committee considers applications each calendar quarter, using the grant review process described in the Foundation
brochure, “Requesting a Grant from The Troy Foundation”. Regular meetings are held on the third Friday of March, June, September, and December. The deadline for
consideration is the 15th of the month preceding each meeting.
The Foundation reserves the right to review your application with community planning agencies, resource people, and/or other funding
sources. This can occur when we think that their input would be helpful in assessing your proposal and its potential significance.
The Foundation will promptly notify all applicants in writing of its decision. Grant recipients may be asked to sign and return a
grant acceptance document prior to the release of the funds. Recipients also must agree to adhere to the terms of the grant throughout the grant period. A
financial and program summary will be required upon completion of the project.
Please allow approximately ten days after the
regularly scheduled meeting to be notified of the
Committee’s decision.
For additional information or assistance, contact The
Troy Foundation, at 937-339-8935. Completed applications should be directed to
the attention of Melissa A. Kleptz.
