We are pleased to bring to you The Troy Foundation website and hope you will take the time to bring yourself up to date on the Foundation’s work. It is the interest and support of many individuals that allow the Foundation to continue to address the ever changing needs of the community.

The Troy Foundation is an example of what we as citizens can accomplish when working together. Since the establishment of the Foundation in 1924, those who have served as members of the Trustees and/or Distribution Committees and our donors have taught us that giving back to the community is not only fulfilling, but necessary in order to enjoy the quality of life that we have grown to know. These individuals also taught us that it is important to preserve what we have come to appreciate within our community for future generations.

As an example, in 2005 the Foundation awarded $2.4 million in grants to area charitable organizations and events from its family of 145 funds. Grants included new computer labs in schools, life-size sculptures in our downtown, enhancement of computer equipment for many organizations, concerts, and fireworks, to name only a few.

These grants were made possible through the many gifts made to the Foundation. Individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations made gifts to the Foundation of over $3.6 million. These gifts have been added to many different permanent funds of the Foundation, and will assist us in our grant making both now and far into the future.

Although the numbers sound high, there is still much more to be done. There are people to be fed, diseases to find cures for, computers to purchase, community events to support, food pantries to furnish, kids to teach, and the list continues to grow each year. It will be the combined efforts of many that can work together to meet these challenges.
